Use of recombinant leptin in women with hypothalamic amenorrhea

Hypothalamic amenorrhea, characterized by suppressed GnRH secretion, occurs when energy output is greater than energy intake. Leptin concentrations, which reflect adipose stores and energy availability, are low in hypothalamic amenorrhea.
